Family Law & Divorce
The breakdown of human relationships causes many problems, some of which are of a legal nature. Our family law specialists are experienced in dealing with those legal problems, and many of them have been appointed to the Law Society Family Law Panel. This means that they have been recognised as experts in Family Law.
Our family law services include:
- divorce and separation
- financial and property aspects: separation frequently requires advice on financial needs and obligations, such as income, ownership of the matrimonial home, and distribution of joint assets
- arrangements concerning the children
- urgent applications to the courts, e.g. for a restraining order for unreasonable behaviour, such as violence and aggression, or preventing the disposal of assets
- mediation services in appropriate cases
We believe that an early settlement by skilled negotiation is desirable. Litigation should be viewed as a last resort, with an eye on the budget. But we are not slow in taking court proceedings where necessary. Our clients best interests, and particularly those of their children, are always paramount.
