Last Friday we joined thousands of others around the country and hosted our very own MacMillan Coffee morning, to raise awareness for Cancer. Getting involved helping charity is very important to Aston Bond so naturally we wanted to get stuck in!
We had a great turn out from clients, fellow businesses and people from the street Trying our delicious cakes and having a good chat! We had a vast buffet table filled with all sorts of sweet goodies, and played a few games, perfect start to a Friday!
Aston Bond had a few budding bakers who made their very own cakes to add, making our coffee morning extra special. Wills & Probate Solicitor Jenna Louise Dunstall, baked us a delicious carrot cake that won first place in our cake competition. Trainee Solicitors Francesca Shaw baked a chocolate fudge cake, trainee solicitor Amarjit Atwal baked a Pineapple Upside down cake. Event organiser Nicola Darby baked a generous selection of chocolate-orange brownies. And I made a Nutella chocolate cake, that won second prize, go me!
We had a variety of competitions in which you pay to play, we had our baking competition, a ‘guess who’ where we had to guess who was from their baby photo’s and a count how many sprinkles and spots were on cakes.
By just giving up our time to bake cakes, (and eat them) we raised a amazing £170! All this will be given straight to MacMillan to help their massive efforts, they’ve already raised 700,000!
